Obsession with insurance claim money is believed to have driven a woman to conspire with her boyfriend to kill her husband at Taman Ehsan Jaya here last week.

In the incident, Hayani Yaakob, in her 50s, and her five-year-old adopted daughter, known as Andra, were burnt alive after being trapped inside the house, while Hayani’s son was injured when part of the roof structure collapsed.

A madrasah teacher who went viral for allegedly assaulting a student with a helmet at a premises in Telipok has been charged with 13 counts at the magistrate’s court here, police confirmed on Monday.
