Two women were detained in a raid on a flat in Air Itam to facilitate investigations into the suspected abuse of two children after several photos of the victims went viral.

Zainuddin Noh and his wife Norhazleyana Azreen Abdul Hamid, both 40, were jointly charged with causing the death of their niece and abusing the victim's brother in two separate courts, in Ipoh.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Nov 17, 2021 said applications for the use of cannabis for medical purposes can be submitted to the Drug Control Authority (DCA) for evaluation and registration if there is sufficient scientific evidence for it to be marketed.
