The Finance Ministry said early registration within the specified period (April 1-April 30) would prevent manufacturers from being charged a compound for the offence of late registration.

This follows the decision by the Reserve Bank of India (India's Central Bank) in July 2022 to allow settlement of International trade in Indian Rupees.
