EC to discuss Johor State Election tomorrow

SHAH ALAM - The Election Commission (EC) will announce the important dates for the Johor State Election in a press conference which will be held tomorrow.

The announcement of the dates for nomination day, early voting day and the voting day is scheduled to take place at 12.30pm.

It will commence once the EC concludes its special meeting on the Johor polls, the same day.

The commission’s chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh will be making the announcement on the important details of the state election.

In the meeting tomorrow, the commission will discuss the details of the writ of election, voter registration and other preparations for the election.

On Jan 23, Johor State Assembly Speaker Suhaizan Kaiat handed over the government gazette in the dissolution of the 14th Johor State Assembly to the EC.

Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on Jan 22, consented to the dissolution of the Johor state legislative assembly to pave way for the state election.
