Nurafiqah, 31, arrived at the Bukit Kepong nomination centre at the Institut Kemahiran Tinggi Belia Negara (IKTBN), at 8.53am, today, accompanied by her proposer and supporter.

Commenting on her nomination, Nurafiqah said although Bukit Kepong used to be represented by a former prime minister and two former Menteri Besars, the socioeconomic and infrastructure gap between urban and rural areas were obvious.

"They might be busy with their political culture in Putrajaya while the residents in Bukit Kepong are still behind in aspects of basic facilities such as internet service, banking, and daily necessities.

"I come forward, as someone holding an urban and regional planning degree and had served for the people in the Muar parliamentary constituency for four years, to offer a sustainable development in Bukit Kepong,” she said in a statement.

She also said although she had expected a tough competition with the opponents, Muda has been recognised and established in the area.
