Be prepared for heavy rain, thunderstorms today, cautions weatherman

KUALA LUMPUR - Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected till afternoon in Perak, Selangor and Melaka.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the areas include Manjung, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, Muallim in Perak, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang in Selangor and Alor Gajah, Central Melaka in Melaka

In a statement, it added bad weather is also expected to hit Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang, Putrajaya, Johor, Perlis, Kedah, Pahang this evening.

Forecast some parts of Sarawak - Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sariker, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang - remains gloomy.

As for Sabah, thunderstorms are expected to hit in Pedalaman, Pantai Barat, Sandakan, Kudat and Tawau.
