Project Leader of Iftar ala Madinah @ Karangkraf Firdaus Hussamuddin shares her thoughts on this year's event.

"This is beyond my expectations, given the fact that it’s been two years since we last held this event.

"In 2018, we had thousands of attendees but that was also because there was no such thing as Covid-19 SOPs and there were booths to help attract members of the public,”

She added that the number of attendees will only increase from here on out.

Due to Covid restrictions, she said the event requires visitors to book their spots daily and register beforehand. This also helps avoid food wastage.

"Should there be leftovers after the iftar is over for the night, anyone who would like to bring home some extra meal packs may do so," she added.

To join in the fun, visitors must have completed both vaccine doses, use face masks at all times except when eating and drinking, and practice social distancing.

At the feast, women and men will be separated groups, but families and married couples will be allowed to break their fasts together.

After breaking their fasts, visitors that want to perform congregational prayers may do so but must bring their own prayer mats and prayer garments.
