On Tuesday, the media reported that an investigation had been initiated by MACC against an Umno senior leader who allegedly accepted bribes.

The investigation was carried out by MACC after receiving a report from the Umno Information Chief of the Setapak Jaya 1A Branch, Kuala Lumpur Setiawangsa Division, Datuk Halim Rahmat.

The report made on April 6 had requested MACC to probe allegations by a news portal linking the allegations of logging projects and land lease in Negeri Sembilan from 2008 to 2010, with bribes allegedly used to buy assets abroad.
