Covid cases dip to 4,006, eight fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - The nation recorded 4,006 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, marking a lower trend of testing.

This is in comparison to 5,624 cases recorded yesterday.

The nation also sees eight new fatalities with no brought in dead cases, marking a single-digit record in recent times as new cases show a downward trend.

The Klang Valley which comprises Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, still recorded the majority of cases of 4,373. Currently, there are 74,752 active cases, with 72,906 of them being home quarantined.

Only 121 cases so far are being cared for in low risk quarantined centres while 1,627 are hospitalised.

Currently, there are 37 cases being care for in intensive care units with 61 of them requiring ventilator support.

The nation also recorded 10,223 recovery cases, with recoveries surpassing daily new infections in recent weeks, this led to active cases reduced day on day.

Cumulatively, the nation has recorded 4,394,125 total cases and 35,499 deaths since the pandemic began.

In terms of vaccination, some 52,712 doses of vaccines were administered yesterday.

This led to the country surpassing the 70 million mark of total vaccines administered in the country.

For context, the nation has administered 70,070,020 doses of vaccines to date with 81 per cent of the population having at least two doses of vaccines.
