'Relatable' talk show to discuss challenges faced by young, divorced women

Society often perceives marriage as a sacred rite which must be upheld regardless. This is why the word divorce is often riddled with stigma as it is seen as a sign of failure.

However in the recent years, the rising number of divorce cases speaks volumes on the shifting attitudes towards marriage, especially among younger couples.

According to a statistics report by the Department of Statistics Malaysia released last December, the median age of grooms is 28 while the median age brides is 26 years old.

Meanwhile, the highest number of divorces at age group is 30 to 34 years old.

In the next episode of "Relatable", Sinar Daily will be discussing the topic of Young and Divorced, addressing issues surrounding the challenges that young, divorced woman face in today’s modern world.

What could be the contributing factors of divorce among young couples? What are the psychological and emotional impacts towards a young, divorced woman and children?

Young and Divorced will be moderated by Izza Izelan and will feature a panelist that comprises of Women Aid Organisation’s Charlene Murray, health expert and motivator Prof Datuk Dr Harlina Halizah Siraj as well as Chiq Ruslan who will be sharing her experience as a young, divorced woman.
