"Now we are starting to get the list of candidates from all departments.

"At the same time, we are researching and filtering potential candidates to be chosen and can be beneficial for BN,” he said when met by reporters at the Parit BN parliament Machinery Launch at Dewan Serbaguna Seri Iskandar, here yesterday.

Commenting further on the candidates, Saarani said the Perak BN was considering highlighting the younger candidates to represent the party.

He said this was based on BN’s achievements in the previous state elections in Melaka and Johor where the party featured fresh and younger candidates.

"There's no guarantee whether current ADUN (State Assemblymen) would maintain their position as some might need to be replaced.

"We need to highlight the fresh candidates, especially the younger ones, to follow the examples set in Melaka and Johor," he said.

Saarani, who was also the Perak Menteri Besar said the launch of the party’s Parit parliament machinery was the sixth out of 24 parliamentary.

The measures taken were examples of how much Perak BN has prepared to face GE15 if it is held soon, he said.

"We will continue with our machinery launches every night until weekends until the dissolution of the Parliament, this is to show that we are prepared," he said.

During GE14, Perak BN had won 11 seats out of 24 seats in Parliament and 27 out of 59 Seats in State Assembly (DUN).

Out of the 11 seats, 10 were contributed by Umno and the other was won by a MIC candidate.

Umno had won all 27 seats in DUN.
