SHAH ALAM - Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah became a familar face after her appointment as Bersih 2.0 chairperson from 2013 until 2018, fearlessly voicing out the need to carry out electoral reforms in the country.

She was thrown into detention for 11 days after being arrested under the Security Offences, Special Measures Act (Sosma).

The Bersih 2.0 chairperson had also received a death threat with a .45 live bullet in an envelope at her home which read "LAST WARNING IF NOT R.I.P Marina (sic) and family".

But this did not deter her.

Chin shares her thoughts with Sinar Daily Politically Frank over injustices faced by the minorities, gaps in public policies including public transport system and the economy.
