SHAH ALAM – Masjid Tanah MP denies claims that she used party's funding for personal gains, says its untrue and the claims made only to create bad perception on her and two others.

Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, who is also a former Umno member debunked the allegations made by former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi towards her.

She said such claims could bring down her reputation as the party leader and cabinet member who was still in service.

"The allegations that I was misusing the party’s fund for my personal gain is a false statement since the fund that mentioned was distributed as required by the party though Puteri state chiefs and Puteri divisional chiefs for programmes and activities as well as the purpose of preparation and action to face of elections,” she said

Mas Ernieyati added such claims made were baseless and indirectly brought negative perception by the public and voters who are within her constituency.

"However, the claims were made on the witness dock in court while he was giving evidence under oath, hence I will get into this deeper and in details,” she said.

Mas Ermieyati was commenting following Zahid’s revelation to the High Court that there were three Umno MPs who have jumped parties as they feared of being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

During the session, Zahid had claimed that Mas Ernieyati was the first MP who decided to jump from the party and she was trusted to handle the funds.

Mar Ernieyati had officially left Umno on July 1, 2018.

However, according to Zahid, the funds was allegedly withdrawn and transferred to another account for her personal use.

Apart from Mas Ernieyati, the second MP mentioned was a minister representing Jeli (Kelantan), who was trusted to handle RM30 million but the money was allegedly used for logistics for voters in Klang valley.

As he was about name a third MP, Zahid was halted by deputy public prosecutor Datuk Raja Rozela Raja Toran.
