Johor Highness Tun Aminah, Vincent Tan's daughter join Berjaya's board

SHAH ALAM - Berjaya Corp Berhad (BCorp) has appointed Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s daughter Chryseis Tan Sheik Long and the daughter of Johor Sultan, her Highness Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim Ismail as new non-independent and non-executive directors to the board.

They replace Datin Sri Sunita Mei-Lin and Datuk Hisham Othman who resigned as independent non-executive directors. Hisham has been appointed as the CEO and executive director of Berjaya Assets since July 1, the group said in a

statement.

It said the group now has nine female directors out of 14 board members, totalling 64 percent of female representation in the group's boardroom, far exceeding the 30 percent recommended under the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.

The new board of line-up are:

- Syed Ali Shahul Hameed (Executive Director/ Joint Group Chief Executive Officer)

- Datuk Sri Zurainah Musa (Executive Director)

- Nerine Tan Shek Ping( Executive Director 1)

- Datuk Robert Yong Kuen Loke (Senior Independent Non-Executive Director)

- Dr Jayanti Naidu G. Danasamy (Independent Non-Executive Director)

- Penelope Gan Paik Ling (Independent Non-Executive Director)

- Datuk Leong Kwei Chun nee Datuk Anne Eu (Independent Non-Executive Director)

- Noriela Baharudin (Independent Non-Executive Director)

- Tan Peng Lam (Independent Non-Executive Director)
