Covid-19 cases hit 4,000 mark, five fatalities in the last 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 4,020 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 with over 1,156 hospitalised, according to data published by the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, over 45 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 23 patients out of the number required ventilator support.

The nation also recorded another five deaths due to Covid-19 including two brought-in-dead (BID) cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 43,386 since the pandemic began.

Currently, there are 33,839 active cases with 32,617 (96.4 per cent) undergoing home quarantine.

Klang Valley and Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 infections with 1,915 and 1,023 respectively in the last seven days.

The country has recorded 4,586,322 Covid-19 cases in total since the pandemic began.
