Jawi investigating viral video of woman taking off her headscarf and clothes at a club in TTDI

A screenshot from a 54-second video clip showing a woman in baju kurung and headscarf introducing herself and claimed that she memorised 15 juz of the Quran before taking off her headscarf and clothes, revealing a sexy top and short skirt underneath.

SHAH ALAM - Preliminary investigation by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) is currently under way into a viral video believed to be an act of insult to Islam at a club in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), Kuala Lumpur.

Its director Datuk Mohd Ajib Ismail in a statement today said the department has acknowledged the video and the Jawi enforcement division has carried out preliminary investigation.

He said if convicted under Section 7 of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Federal Territories) Act 1997, for insulting or causing contempt against Islam, a person could be fined not more than RM3,000 or sentenced to jail for a term not exceeding two years or both.

"Jawi will not compromise with any act that aims at insulting and tarnishing the image and sanctity of Islam in the Federal Territories, especially ahead of the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration,” he said.

Earlier, a 54-second video clip with the caption 'acara menghina Islam?' (an event insulting Islam?) surfaced on social media.

The clip showed a woman in baju kurung and headscarf introducing herself and claimed that she memorised 15 juz of the Quran before taking off her headscarf and clothes, revealing a sexy top and short skirt underneath.

The incident allegedly took place at a comedy club in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Those who were at the club were seen cheering and laughing over her act.
