AmanahRaya launches campaign in spirit of Merdeka

SHAH ALAM – With Merdeka Day just around the corner, Amanah Raya Berhad (AmanahRaya) shows its patriotic commitment through the launch of the ‘Wave the Jalur Gemilang’ programme and ‘Merdeka Will’ campaign.

AmanahRaya Chairman Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor said the campaign was designed in conjunction with the country’s 65th Independence Day, meant to ignite the spirit of national love within the community.

"In line with the independence theme this year (which is) ‘Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama’, AmanahRaya as the Trustee and Estate Administrator plays the role to ensure Malaysia’s social welfare is prioritised specifically through inheritance planning.

"The continuity of the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ legacy can only be achieved if the community realise the importance of Will and Trust at an early stage,” he said.

Ramli who had earlier launched the campaign said under the Merdeka Will Campaign, the basic package started from as low as RM350 while the comprehensive package was priced at RM950 during the campaign period between Aug 1 and Sept 30, 2022.

As of July 31 2022, more than 1.1 million wills were registered, 19,634 Inheritance Administration files and 23,418 Trust Accounts were opened in AmanahRaya.

He explained that the wills of AmanahRaya were kept in a secured place with sophisticated equipment to ensure the wills would be of good quality throughout the years.

Besides that, the Estate Administration’s service fee was very affordable and no additional or hidden fees would be charged.

Third-party charged fees were outside the jurisdiction of AmanahRaya.

Thus, it was important for the people to choose a ‘One Stop Centre’ agency like AmanahRaya as the service fee structure was under the supervision of the Finance Ministry.

The programmes that had been conducted both physically and online included around 600 AmanahRaya officers from the headquarters and 20 branches throughout the country.
