KUALA LUMPUR – No supporters of former prime minister Najib Razak are seen at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today as he attends his 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial.
The atmosphere was quite different compared to the previous hearing of the Pekan Member of Parliament in Putrajaya on Tuesday.
As of 10.30am, only journalists from various media were seen at the High Court to report on the updates of the trial.
Also present was Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa who arrived at 9.30am.
Najib faces four charges of using his position to obtain bribes totalling RM2.3 billion from the 1MDB fund and 21 counts of money laundering involving the same amount.
He was sent to Kajang Prison on Tuesday to serve a prison sentence after the Federal Court upheld his conviction, a 12-year prison sentence as well as a fine of RM210 million for misappropriating SRC International Sdn Bhd's RM42 million fund.
