SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak suffered from stomach ulcers for years now, his daughter revealed.

Nooryana Najwa Najib today opened up about her father’s health condition on her Instagram account where she posted a story that said Najib was prone to stomach ulcers which could easily flare up under stress or due to gastritis.

Nooryana said the last time Najib’s ulcers bled was last year, when he was unaware of his condition until he felt like he almost fainted due to the internal bleeding.

"He was admitted discreetly to hospital for a week,” she said.

Back in 2010, Najib faced similar circumstances where he was admitted to hospital for three days to treat his stomach ulcers

"I know Daddy is not the type to complain if he is not well.

"He does not like to cause an inconvenience to anyone, even at the risk of his own well-being.

"By the time he shows symptoms, it is usually too late. Both episodes in the past, we caught it too late and thus, required serious medical intervention including blood transfusion,’ she said.

In the post, she said they hoped Najib would receive consistent medical check-ups and treatments, if required, from the prison and hospitals.

"Please take care of our Daddy and Bossku. He means the world to us,” Nooryana said.

Najib, who is currently serving a prison sentence at Kajang Prison, was recently hospitalised.

This was confirmed by his official who also informed that the former Umno President's condition was stable and necessary medical tests were conducted.

Najib began serving a prison sentence on August 23 after the Federal Court upheld his conviction of 12-year prison sentence with RM210 million fine he faced in the embezzlement case of SRC International Sdn Bhd's RM42 million fund.
