KOTA KINABALU - All decisions on the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) joining Pakatan Harapan (PH) needs to be made at the Presidential Council, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Information Deputy Chief Razeef Rakimin said.

"I take note of Muda President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman's statement regarding the intention of the party to join PH as a component party.

"His statement was welcomed by a few Amanah and DAP leadership," he said in a statement on Thursday.

He said the Presidential Council needed to take a smart decision and not ‘carry' parties that would only become a liability to PH.

"Take note of the Johor State Election (SE) situation as well as a few arrogant statements made by Muda’s leadership.

"We had opened the room for negotiations as well as gave the platform to Muda at the Johor SE however, what was done by Muda was rude at the time.

"It started with the claims of the Ulu Tiram State Assemblyman from PKR at the time was untrustworthy. Then Johor Muda's social media page uploaded a poster 'Hentikan Korupsi' (stop corruption), placing PKR and PH’s logo as if both entities were giving and receiving bribes.

"In the state of PKR being insulted, the party still gave three seats for Muda to contest however, it was rejected by the party and clashed with the Larkin State Assembly contested by PKR," he said.

Thus he viewed it was better for the cooperation to be woven outside of PH and stated that he did not want history to be repeated involving the overlap of seats and such in Johor SE.

At the same time he questioned the statement of Sabah Muda Chairman Amos Thien that hoped for the cooperation with Warisan while Muda wanted to be with PH.

"PH is a dignified coalition. I don't think PH would cooperate with Warisan, which had declared war on PH.

"However, Warisan's decision to cut ties with PH was announced in the Warisan Annual General Meeting recently.

"Muda needs to learn more about politics and not become a party that clings here and there to win. Muda's status with the Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) party until today still had no end," he said.

Previously on Tuesday, Muda had unanimously agreed to join PH as a component party in the coalition.
