NILAI - The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Course Module (Kiar) for Vocational Education and Training (Tvet) students at 22 Youth and Sports Skills Training Institutes (ILKBS) will be implemented immediately.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the module aims to instil the principles of zero tolerance and compromise against any form of corruption at all levels.

"This collaboration involves the implementation of Kiar for the technical education and vocational training streams at 22 ILKBS," he told reporters after officiating the closing ceremony of ILKBS Middle Zone Career Fest here today.

He said the Youth and Sports Ministry is committed to educating students to avoid corrupt activities.

Ahmad Faizal said the module was offered as an elective subject at the certificate, diploma and bachelor's degree level in all institutions of higher learning (IPT) this year but will be improved and offered as a general studies (MPU) course from next year.

At the career fair, he said it was to encourage youth involvement in the job market in line with the government's efforts to revive the national economy and further strengthen household incomes, especially the asnaf (tithe recipients), B40 and M40 groups.

Ahmad Faizal said there were 1,280 job vacancies offered involving 23 industries in various sectors this time around.

"The government is targeting a 35 per cent increase in the new highly skilled workforce in the economic sector by 2030. The marketability of Tvet graduates has also exceeded 90 per cent in three consecutive years,” he said. - Bernama
