SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth Chief Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki says the 15th General Election (GE15) could be held in early November to avoid the year-end flood season.

He said the Election Commission (EC) had the capabilities to hold GE15 within four weeks if Parliament was dissolved early October.

He said that based on GE14 records, the Parliament was dissolved on April 7, 2018 and the EC had set May 8, 2018 as the polling day, which was a month.

"Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicted massive floods end of November.

"Many especially the opposition have urged for GE15 to be postponed.

"I agree the election should be delayed if floods are truly happening.

"Based on the EC's records, past elections and taking into account flood predictions proves that we have time to have elections before the flood season if the Parliament is dissolved in October," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

He said MetMalaysia predictions could be a main reference for the Parliament to be dissolved in October between Oct 7 to Oct 10.

He said GE15 could then be held in early November.
