Mydin and Cadbury Dairy Milk join hands to channel food supplies to six charity homes

BANGI - Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) has joined hands with Mondelez International (Malaysia)'s brand Cadbury Dairy Milk in the 'Menyentuh Hati Dengan Pembelian Ikhlas' corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to channel five months of food supplies to six charity homes in the country.

Mydin executive director Ahimmat Mydin said around RM30,000 was raised with Cadbury Dairy Milk to make a go at the initiative which is also an extension of the #CadburyHuggingBar campaign.

"We are proud to be a part of this journey with Cadbury Dairy Milk whilst encouraging our customers to share their portion of happiness with the underprivileged.

"As a responsible corporate citizen, Mydin will continue the commitment through the Mydin Prihatin 'We Bring Smiles' (Kami Bawa Senyuman) initiative to bring positive impact to the society with our strategic partners, particularly Cadbury Dairy Milk being one of our suppliers," he said.

He told reporters after attending the CSR initiative held at the Bangi Industrial and Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK@PLPP Bangi) here today which was also attended by Cadbury Dairy Milk senior marketing manager (Chocolates) Ng Boon Siew.

PPDK@PLPP Bangi chairman Mohd Fuan Yusop expressed his gratitude to Mydin and Cadbury Dairy Milk for the food supply aid.

"This contribution has greatly helped us in securing food supplies. I humbly thank both parties for thinking of the welfare of the children here," he said.

Including PPDK@PLPP Bangi, the six charity homes that will be receiving the food supplies are PPDK Sinar Harapan Shah Alam and Pusat Kebajikan dan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kuala Lumpur.

Also benefitting are Pusat Jagaan Persatuan Disleksia in Sarawak, Persatuan Kebajikan Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) Xi Le Er in Johor and the Down Syndrome Care Centre in Kelantan. - BERNAMA
