SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders cannot use money, allocations and machinery from the government or state government during the 15th General Election.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this stand was outlined in PH’s policy.

"That is indeed our policy where the government cannot use money, allocations and machinery for elections.

"Our decision to make a state election is because we want a legitimate state election, legitimacy to use machinery and finances to help flood victims," he told the reporters.

Anwar said this in response to a question on how he could ensure that party leaders in PH-led state contesting for Parliamentary seats do not use state funds for campaigns.

He said this after officiating the PH Women’s Iltizam and Election Machinery for GE15 at Dewan Raja Muda Musa here today.

Earlier today, Anwar confirmed that PH-led states - Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor; will not be holding elections in line with GE15 stating that they would focus on year-end floods instead.

On women in politics, Anwar has called for all women to stand out and break the nest of corruption in the nation.

He also urged women to convince other women that no one has the right to take away their voices.

"Its been six decades since we achieved our Independence Day but people are still discussing about equality now.

"How come in 2022 there are still unheard voices, there are people and races who feel marginalised, regions that feel marginalised.

"This is definitely not what we call justice.

"That's why I insist on the relevance of reform, the relevance of PH and for justice of mothers, sisters and women in the nation," he said.

Also present was former PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Amanah Wanita chief Aiman Athirah Sabu.
