Is 30% Of Women Enough Or Too Much?

Women constitute over 50 per cent of Malaysia’s population and yet they continue to be shorthanded when it comes to leadership positions and decision making roles.

Despite continuous efforts to achieve the 30 per cent mark in various fields including politics over the past few years, there is still no light at the end of the tunnel.

Candidates are allegedly either unqualified or unable to contest due other commitments. This begs the question; is the 30 per cent too much to begin with? Should women representation be set at a lower benchmark? Or is it the men suppressing the female success?
