"Even if you are thrown, you must remain a distinguished fighter," he said.

Meanwhile, Tun Faisal said that he was not aware of the matter.

"I don't know, wait for further updates later," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced the line-up of BN candidates who would contest the 15th General Election (GE15), next Nov 19.

Annuar was not nominated and his place was replaced by Kelantan Puteri Chief, Marzuani Ardila Ariffin.

Previously, there was an effort to officially register Muafakat Nasional (MN) between Pas and Umno but the name was already registered at the Registry of Societies Malaysia (RoS).

The matter was confirmed on Dec 30, 2020 by Pas vice president, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.

MN then faced a crisis when Zahid asked Pas to make a choice between BN or Perikatan Nasional (PN).

However, Pas finally chose to be with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in PN thus severing ties with Umno.
