GE15: Now Zahidi wants to go against Zahida in Padang Besar

ARAU - Umno's Padang Besar Parliamentary seat incumbent, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin says he will follow the footsteps of party veteran Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim to run against BN candidate to win his seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Zahidi said that he was determined to contest against BN 'scandidate in Padang Besar, Datuk Zahida Zarikh Khan, although he has not finalised which party he will be contesting under.

Zahidi described Umno as being in a state of disarray as potential winning candidates were removed and replaced with new faces.

He said the new candidates that BN put forward were expected to face a difficult path due to current political developments.

"We see that her (Zahida) chances may have been bright when Umno was strong but in the current situation, her chances are slim.

"The grassroots may be divided and make it difficult to win there because they want locals to represent them," he said.

Umno's veteran Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has confirmed that he will be contesting under Perikatan Nasional ticket in Arau for GE15.
