SHAH ALAM – DAP central executive committee member Syahredzan Johan explained that the party is not a Chinese party as claimed by many people as well as that Malays are not being sidelined.

He reminded Malaysians not to be swayed by propaganda fabricated by other parties that DAP is a Chinese party linked to communist.

"Our supporters are mutiracial, not just Chinese, but we have Malays and Indians as well.

"Who are the elected representatives that went on the ground during the pandemic? It is DAP and PH representatives.

"So please remember, do not just be blinded by the propaganda by our opponents who said we are a Chinese party, communist and so on,” he said in Sinar Daily's Politically Frank.

He added DAP is an old political party but there was no track being blacklisted or banned, this shows DAP is a legitimate political party with legitimate interest.

Commenting further, he said, he is a Malay member of the party but he also had the opportunity to contest during the election despite being new.

"How can you say that Malays are being sidelined?,” he added.
