MUAR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) insists that it will not cooperate with any political parties in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said there was no such cooperation because it adheres to the principle that PN has its own strength.

"Why join the other side. The remaining three days of the critical general election will be decisive.

"I hope or expect there will be a new wave of awareness among voters, especially Malay voters, that we need to act now," when interviewed by Sinar Live's Cukup-Cukuplah Fitnah PN yesterday.

Muhyiddin also said that if there was a slight increase in the percentage of Malay and Chinese support, PN could win in GE15.

He hopes that the Malay support will increase by up to 70 per cent to PN.

"This is because in PN, there are Bersatu and Pas. Besides Gerakan, these are two grand coalitions of Malay and Islamic political parties.

"If that's the biggest attraction and we can draw at least 70 per cent and that's now close to 60 per cent over the next day, I think there's going to be an area that is 50-50, there's going to be an improvement from there and we can win," he said.

Earlier, Muhyiddin reportedly said PN had never mandated Pas Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to negotiate with Barisan Nasional to form a government after GE15.

He said the purpose of PN in GE15 was to form a government without having to cooperate with Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH).

On Nov 15, Takiyuddin was quoting saying that PN and BN could cooperate to form a government after GE15, in which he later said had been taken out of context.

He said any statement regarding cooperation with BN was not consequential and the headline of media reports also misled voters.
