GE15: Anwar sees wind of change in Kelantan, Terengganu

SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sees a wind of change in Kelantan and Terengganu involving the coalition in the 15th General Election (GE15).

The Tambun Parliament PH candidate said it was based on the response he received when he campaigned at the two states currently led by the Pas government.

"The anger of the people in issues that they (Pas) cannot handle well (such as) the issue of water, development and education.

"Whether the wave is enough to defeat them (Pas) I am not sure yet, but there is definitely a change and the wave is real," he said.

He said this in a special interview titled GE15: 'Grand Finale' For Malaysia broadcasted on Astro Awani on Wednesday.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president added that the challenge in the two states was also interesting based on the responses received.

"In the heavy rain, thousands of people came to listen and express their anxiety and frustration because of the neglect from the state," he claimed.

Commenting on campaigns that used race and religion, Anwar believed that it was the act of a desperate, low-minded person who did not care about religious teachings and the great Malay culture.

"Malay culture is actually a culture that is too strong and permeated with Islamic principles of reason and morals. I am certainly not happy because it does not give a good image," he said.

Anwar said that he had to face this problem, fight back and retaliate.

"Because I think this is against the preaching method that is emphasised in Islam," he stressed.

At the same time, he also expressed his admiration among the youths who also rejected this matter.

"I am amazed that the youths now who are very good at commenting, repelling and retaliate," he said.
