KOTA KINABALU - Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin was still able to retain a stylish victory in the Kinabatangan Parliament despite facing a tough one-to-one battle for the seat.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah chairman managed to defend his stronghold through 16,842 votes with a majority of 4,330 votes.

He defeated his contender from Parti Warisan, Mazliwati Abdul Malek who obtained 12,512 votes in the 15th General Election (GE15) this time.

Meanwhile, BN candidate in the Putatan Parliament, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya won with a narrow majority of 124 votes out of a total of 16,234 votes he obtained.

Shahelmey defeated his closest contender, Awang Husaini Sahari from Pakatan Harapan (PH) who is also the incumbent of the seat with 16,110 votes, Warisan candidate, Ahmad Mohd Said (8,511) and Pejuang candidate, Poyne Tudus @ Patrick Payne (394).
