'We don't work with DAP since it's a socialist party, not because we are racist' - Annuar

SHAH ALAM - Ketereh Umno division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa says Barisan Nasional (BN) does not work with DAP due to the latter's principles, not because BN is racist.

He said cooperation with DAP was possible since the party has no issues working with parties of other races, but what will unite them would depend on their principles.

He further clarified that BN was never against other races but they did not work with DAP since it was a socialist party and carried liberal ideas.

"A lot of people ask why we cannot work with DAP when we work with MCA. This is a wrong perception because we are not racist.

"We can cooperate, but only if DAP changes its policy.

"Sorry for using this harsh comparison but if the pork meat is non-halal, then would it be halal if we change the cook?,” he said in a live video on Facebook on Monday.

Annuar said it was important that the people choose their leaders from the same race since that was what should be prioritised.

However, that does not mean they should become racist against other races in the country.
