KUALA LUMPUR - The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has received a total of 3,483 reports related to the 15th general election (GE15) from Nov 4 to yesterday.
PDRM GE15 operations director Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali said of the total, Kedah recorded the highest number of reported offences at 453, followed by Selangor (449), Pahang (433), Kelantan (432); Perak (335) and Johor (304).
A total of 236 reports were received in Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur (224); Perlis (214); Sabah (120); Sarawak (88); Penang (85); Terengganu (63) and Melaka (47), he said in a statement today.
"A total of 515 investigation papers have been opened, 180 cases have been referred to the deputy public prosecutor," he said, with six charged and four individuals convicted.
Meanwhile, Hazani, who is also Bukit Aman's Internal Security and Public Order Department director, said yesterday that six investigation papers had been opened involving two in Kelantan and one each in Perak, Melaka, Johor and Sabah. - BERNAMA
