Release Zulfadli from detention under Seditious Act, demands reform group

SHAH ALAM - Reform group, CSO Platform for Reform demands authorities to release Zulfadli Halim who is currently under remand.

The group in a statement said the man allegedly posted seditious contents on his social media which led him under a three day remand.

"We, CSO Platform for Reform, together with the undersigned endorsees from the civil society organisations and individuals, demand for the release of Zulfazli Halim.

"Based on Zulfazli’s tweets, he was not informed why he was asked to present himself at the police station," it said.

The watchdog further said Zulfazli had showed willingness to cooperate with the police, as stated in his 1.30pm tweet, yesterday and he was on the way to IPD Ampang Jaya to have his statement recorded,” it further added.

The group urged police to uphold the freedom of speech as stated in the Federal Constitution.
