Netizens suggest Tok Mat, Hishammuddin as DPM

Among the comments on social media on Sunday about candidates eligible to be Deputy Prime Minister.

SHAH ALAM - Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Barisan Nasional (BN) treasurer-general Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein were among the names that were the most popular choice for the post of Deputy Prime Minister in the Unity Government cabinet.

Based on the response of netizens on Sinar Harian's Instagram and Facebook, among the other names mentioned were the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president, Rafizi Ramli; Umno vice president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president, Mohamad Sabu; Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng, One of the netizens named aleef_21, said Tok Mat seemed to be the best candidate who could hold the DPM portfolio so far.

" Actually, Rafizi is a suitable candidate, but Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says (the post) will not be given to someone from Pakatan Harapan (PH), so Tok Mat is the best candidate so far," he said in an Instagram comment on Friday.

Another netizen khalil.hambaallah said, the post of DPM should be given to Hishammuddin.

" It's better for (the DPM position) to be given to Datuk Hishammuddin," he said.

Meanwhile, Rafizi seems to be the choice for netizens to hold the Finance Minister's portfolio.

Netizens also suggested the name of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim; Abang Johari and Guan Eng as options for the post.

Rafizi and Abang Johari also seemed to be popular choices to hold the post of Minister of Economic Affairs.

Among the other names that were suggested were Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman; former finance minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz; Amanah Strategy director, Datuk Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad; Anwar and Mohamad Sabu.

For the post of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs, a majority of netizens suggested the names of the former minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri and former PKR information chief, Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz.

Names such as Amanah vice president Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusuf and Umno youth chief Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki were also came up as choices for the post.

The most popular choice for the post of Minister of Home Affairs was Rafizi followed by Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan; Mohamad Sabu and Mohamad Hasan.

As for the health portfolio, netizens seem to like Dr Dzulkefly and Mohamad Sabu as the preferred candidates for the post.
