SHAH ALAM - Forming a unity government is not an easy task, says Muda president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman.

This, he said was especially when it required give and take among the leaders in the coalitions.

Further discussions needed to be made, he added.

The Muar MP said apart from internal discussions to be held in the process of the formation of the new government, it was also important to respect the law.

"I think it is rather best for it to be discussed internally and what’s critical is for us to respect the rules of law.

"There shouldn’t be any court cases being dropped or executive interference.

"Even for myself, I have shared this before. I don't want my case to be dropped, I want justice to prevail in the court of law.

"I want my name to be cleared under the court of law, not by political interference,” he said.

It was reported that Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi could be a candidate for the Deputy Prime Minister post in the new government.

This follows the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman’s experience as a leader of the party.

However, there were mixed reactions over the matter since Zahid still has an ongoing case at the Kuala Lumpur High Court involving the misappropriation of funds from charity foundation Yayasan Akalbudi.
