MCA president paid courtesy call on PM, discussing national issues

SHAH ALAM - MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at his office today.
In a Facebook post today (Dec 15) , Wee said they discussed and exchanged opinion on inflation, cost of living and political developments in the 35-minutes meeting.
"We also discussed on how to attract foreign investments especially from China which has potential to make large investmentts here. This will help to boost the country's economy.
Also present was Tanjung Piai MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng
Wee also added that he had extended congratulations to Anwar on his appointment as the 10th prime minister.
"It is hoped that the government under the 10th PM's leadership would continue to progress, stabilise and recover in the post-pandemic era," he added.
After assuming office, Anwar announced that a vote of confidence motion would be tabled in Parliament on Dec 19 to clarify the question of his legitimacy as prime minister.
Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said an agreement between all parties that agreed to form a unity government will be signed tomorrow (Dec 16) ahead of the the vote of confidence next Monday.
Anwar also expressed his confidence that he would gain two-third support of the MPs through the vote of confidence motion.
The Tambun MP said this was based on the commitment given by PH, Barisan Nasional (BN), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) 's leadership under the unity government.
