KUALA LUMPUR: Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul warned MPs in the house to not be a ' Batu Ronson' ( instigator).

It began when Mohd Sany Hamzah (PH-Hulu Langat) called Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) a "beruk” (ape). Datuk Awang then took offence and started to call to the Speaker to chastise Mohd Sany.

Johari subsequently told Mohd Sany to sit down and as he slammed the gavel twice.

Batu Ronson is a term used to describe people who like to pit one person against the other, akin to lighting a fire. It can be translated as a Ronson flint which is used for lighters. Ronson was a famous brand that produced the flints back in the day.

"If I hear anyone using unparliamentarian words, I will eject them from the House.

" I get to decide if the word used is unparlimentary, let this be a warning specifically to the newly-elected MPs learn to be patient first, don’t be an instigator,” Johari added.
