PM denies cancelling pensions of former Cabinet members

PUTRAJAYA - The unity government will not cancel the pension of former Cabinet members.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim explained that no such thing could be done because it was subject to the Federal Constitution.

He said this in a press conference after the weekly Cabinet meeting here on Wednesday.

The Tambun MP said the previous measures taken only involved administration privileges such the provision of vehicles for former ministers.

" We cancelled giving vehicles to former ministers, from an administrative standpoint it does not violate the constitution," he explained
