Heart to heart discussions to reach middle ground - Zahid
KOTA KINABALU - The meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor will be done through a heart-to-heart discussion for a ‘win-win’ outcome for all parties.

Zahid said the meeting was to find a way to solve the current crisis in Sabah.

"Tonight, Anwar and I will hold a meeting with Hajiji regarding the political issue in Sabah.

"Insya-Allah we will have a heart-to-heart discussion and we will find a way to solve this crisis.

"We will strive to gain a ‘win-win’ solution at the end,” he said when met by reporters after dinner session with Sabah Umno at the Umno building, here, on Monday.

The dinner was attended by Sabah Umno Communication Body Chief and Sabah BN Director Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin as well as Sabah Umno leadership.

The deputy prime minister said the decision will be announced after the meeting by the prime minister.

"Insya-Allah, after the meeting I am confident Anwar will meet with the media to state the decision made from the meeting,” he said.

The prime minister had concluded his official visit to Indonesia and is now at the chief minister’s official home in Sri Gaya, here, to meet with Hajiji.

The Sabah political crisis occurred when Bung Moktar on Friday announced that Sabah Umno and BN had pulled their support towards Hajiji as Sabah Chief Minister.

This has caused the government established under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is now in a turmoil when Hajiji had lost the support of several assemblymen.

However, Hajiji on Sunday stated he had received support from 44 Assemblymen and would remain as Sabah Chief Minister.
