KUALA LUMPUR - After stating her intent, actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin is set to file her divorce papers in the Lower Shariah Court here on Monday.

She said the divorce documents were supposed to be filed on Thursday, but had to be delayed to the following week due to her packed filming assignements in Port Dickson.

Shariah lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader who represented Puteri Sarah confirmed the matter and said only the divorce application will be filed on that day.

When asked whether the actress will be present at court for the divorce application, Akberdin said 'she will surely attend'.

Two days ago, Puteri Sarah through her Instagram urged Syamsul Yusof to 'free her' because she was unwilling to be in a polygamous marriage.

"To Mohd Shamsul, because you blocked me and refused to have a discussion, I ask of you to let me go because I do not want to be involved in polygamy,” she said.

Syamsul in an exclusive interview said he was working towards restoring his relationship with Puteri Sarah.

The director asked his first wife to come home and discuss their relationship.

Syamsul and Puteri Sarah were married on March 8, 2014 and had two children - Syaikhul Islam, 6, and Sumayyah, 4.

On Jan 6, Syamsul, 38, made a confession through Instagram that he married actress Ira Kazar in Thailand represented by his father-in-law veteran actor Kazar Saisi.

Their relationship was questioned four years ago, but the pair never responded to questions.
