SHAH ALAM - Former Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman rejects his membership suspension as he is under the impression that the Umno Supreme Working Council's (MKT) decision is based on accusations and slander.

He said various conspiracies were made to bring him down, including the accusation of sabotaging three candidates contesting in the Pasir Salak parliamentary constituency.

Tajuddin said it was a malicious slander and not true at all.

"I had already accepted the decision of not being named as a candidate for the 15th General Election (GE15) with an open heart.

"Throughout GE15, I campaigned day and night while also injecting enthusiasm and extending financial assistance amounting to more than RM1 million to the party's machinery," he stated in a letter of rejection of his membership suspension he submitted yesterday (Thursday).

The letter was addressed to Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

This was after the MKT declined Tajuddin's appeal.

Umno information chief Isham Jalil said Tajuddin's suspension was effective Jan 5, 2023.

Tajuddin added that among the arguments for the rejection was that the decision was made because the MKT or the Disciplinary Board did not provide a letter explaining any wrongdoings by him.

"I was not called to defend myself before the board or the MKT about any allegations.

"Therefore, I request that MKT give me justice and withdraw the suspension decision as soon as possible to restore the unity and integrity of the Pasir Salak Umno," he said.
