Wrong strategies murdered Umno not Pas - Hamzah Zainudin

SELAMA - Umno should blame the election strategy which nearly killed the party instead of blaming Pas.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the recent accusation by Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan that Pas wanted to destroy the party is not right.
"I know my friends from Pas and other component parties. When there is a meeting, Pas leaders in PN are very sincere about discussing and determining how the direction of our struggles is received by the people.
"Good strategy determines success. If we succeeded, this means that our strategy is correct.
"Of course there is a strategy that determines success, and with victory, it shows our strategy is correct.
"So, please don't accuse others of killing Umno because when you are on the 'battle' field, there will be a winner and a loser," he said after presenting RM100,000 in donations to the Madrasah Nurul Huda's construction at Rantau Panjang here today.
The Larut member of parliament said the people's acceptance of PN's leadership has led to the party's victory across the country.
"If you have lost, accept the fact that the defeat was due to wrong strategies, not because other parties had intended to ruin Umno.
"I was with the two prime ministers and leaders of Umno (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob), and there has not been any party that has emerged with intentions to destroy another party. In fact, Pas has plans to strengthen their friendship," he said.
