Kuskop strategic plan aims for strong, advanced, resilient, competitive entrepreneurs

Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedict delivers his keynote address and launched the ministry's Strategic Plan 2023 today.
KUALA LUMPUR - With a three-point strategic plan for the year launched today, the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) will emphasise on focus towards implementation and defined target groups through development initiatives involving all agencies under the ministry.

Its minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said the plan would firstly demand adaptation of technology and digitalisation.

"The advancement of technology in the past decade has intensified competitivity in business and economies across the world. As such, the ministry and agencies must ensure that this aspect is given priority through its implementation of programmes and intervension this year, including improving delivery of services through technology and digitalisation," Ewon said in his speech.

The strategic plan, carrying the theme "Advanced, Transformative and Responsive", said Ewon, will focus on three key objectives.

"The first will be to provide an ecosystem that is condusive towards supporting and driving recovery, growth and stability in the entrepreneural sector in the country. The second objective is to improve the durability and competitiveness on entrepreneurs post-pandemic and the third will be to strengthen delivery services for entreprenuers which are facilitative and effective," said Ewon, in his keynote address to ministry officials and agencies.

He said to realise these objectives, five strategic cores, 24 strategies and 185 programmes and projects have been formulated, covering the areas of policies, administration, monitoring, capacity development, access to funding, market access, adaptation of technology and the strengthening of delivery services.

"Six key performances indicators have also been outlined and must be met through the implementation of this strategic plan, as the implementation of all planned programmes and projects will benefit 543,000 individual entreprenuers and future entrepreneurs," said Ewon.

"I am confident that these strategies and direction will produce entreprenuers that are resilient, advanced, proactive, competitive and innovative, who are able to rise against unpredictable situations and future shocks."
