'The unity government is not a concrete bridge, work hard and talk less ' - Shabery

SHAH ALAM - Umno Supreme Council (MKT) member, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek today reprimanded the actions of a few Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders who love to openly attack each other despite being in the same government.

Shabery said the government today was similar to an iron bridge that used to many screws.

"(The government today is like) an iron bridge with many screws, that will easily collapse once it is pulled in any direction, it takes time to create something concrete," he said in a statement

Shabery was responding to a comment made by the member of parliament for Pasir Gudang, Hassan Abdul Karim who had recently described BN and Umno leaders in the government as corrupted viruses that is currently

infecting the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Meanwhile Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, Dr. P Ramasamy had also said that Umno president Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was a 'burden' not only to his party, but also to PH and the unity government.

Shabery cautioned those in the unity government to learn from the previous downfall of the Pakatan Harapan government which fell after 22 months.

"The virus that attacked the PH government also loved to speak ill of each other openly and the vaccine for this virus has not been found yet, if not contained it could claim more victims

"While being the opposition, anyone can talk and speak with no need of discipline.

"Being the government is a bit difficult. Because people want to see when the ringgit will be reflected like in 2018, when will the stock market rise again like in 2018, when will investors flood in like before. How high is the dividends of Tabung Haji, Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) and others. The most difficult matter is about chicken and eggs," he elaborated.

He said those that are a part of the unity government needed to work hard and talk less.

"All of these is difficult. You have to possess the right formula and you have to work hard and talk less. Not by looking for fights with friends in the same government," he advised.
