KUALA LUMPUR - The restoration work for Light Transit Service (LRT) Ampang line does not have a definite timeline yet, as the ministry is currently waiting for report results from experts, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Loke said the ministry is waiting for results from investigation by experts on the structure of the LRT and how it affected the safety of the transport.

"I cannot guarantee when it will be fully restored, once we receive the report we will decide how to mitigate and make further announcement soon.

"We are now waiting for experts to give us the report on how the structure will affect the safety of the train and whether it is safe enough to operate," Loke said when met by reporters at the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) Chinese New Year open house today.

While putting the public's safety at the top priority, he also advised LRT Ampang line users to plan their journey on Monday to avoid delay and ensure smooth journey.

The LRT Ampang line had faced delays in services on Jan 27 morning due to a track alignment problem near the Bandaraya station.

RapidKL said preliminary observations showed that this was due to structural damage to a pillar in the area, believed to be a result of construction work nearby.
