SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) secretary Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus said no official notice was given on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) move to freeze the party's account.

He said, as of now, no Negeri Sembilan Bersatu leaders had been summoned to assist in the investigation.

"I did not receive official information from the head office about this matter. I can only confirm that Negeri Sembilan Bersatu's account is not frozen.

"We were also not called for investigation. I cannot comment further, even if I wanted to, because I have no information," he told Sinar.

Mohd Nazree also said this was a move to maliciously slander the political image of Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

He is confident that Bersatu will be proven innocent.

"It is different from before, when Pakatan Harapan (PH) won in the 14th General Election (GE14) and allegations of irregularities were evident after Umno's prime minister house was raided.

"So far, no raid has been conducted on Bersatu leaders' houses. I believe there will be criteria for people to judge," he said.

On Wed, Sinar reported that several Bersatu's accounts had been frozen by MACC and it was confirmed by MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki and Bersatu Supreme Council member Dr Muhammad Faiz Na'aman.

Faiz said it was linked to MACC's investigation into the misappropriation fund of RM92.5 billion by PN during the Covid-19 pandemic
