Social media is an online medium that has a significant impact in many areas, including raising awareness of the Palestine-Israel conflict.

Nowadays, we can see many public figures, celebrities, and social media influencers making waves by interacting with and advocating to the international community for the injustices perpetrated against our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

Israa Saleh, a 23-year-old Palestinian youth, believes that this movement is influenced by people from all over the world, not just Palestinians.

"One of the most significant movements that we are seeing and witnessing in our time is social media, because Palestinian influencers are a part of the global changing of the Palestine-Israeli conflict."

Israa also highlighted one of the greatest social media movements that has been made by the international model and public figure, Bella Hadid.

"From her, we can see that the western countries, in particular, are not blinded like before on the Palestine-Israel issue. So, I believe that it is the best way to ensure that people share their messages without being influenced by the other side.

"I’m really glad and hope this movement actually helps Palestinians," she added.

Israa also expressed her hope to have more influencers advocate for people, because this is one way to keep demanding Palestine's freedom and land back.

"Palestinian youths are resilient. They don’t deserve to live in these conditions. But I don’t think colonisation continues. And I don't believe the Palestinians will give up.The struggles still continue, and they keep demanding to get their freedom and land back."

Israa said this when met at the International Conference on Palestine Kuala Lumpur (ICPKL) which was held at the Royal Chulan Hotel in Seremban for three days from Feb 10.

There are many international influencers who are showing their solidarity towards Palestine, such as Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Zayn Malik, and more.

Malaysia also has a lot of humanitarian activists who are also celebrities, such as Faizal Tahir, Mizz Nina, Noh Salleh, and Heliza Helmi.
