SHAH ALAM - Controversial blogger Raja Petra’s daughter, Raja Sara Petra will be contesting the Umno Puteri exco seat.

In a statement, she said she’s confident in contributing to the party.

"The entire world is in chaos and this means Malaysia will not be spared as we face economic and political uncertainties," she said, adding that Umno has a role to play to overcome these issues.

She further said the people will be restless in the upcoming months. "Unless we have a winning formula, expect the rakyat to demand a change of government.

"And the present government is going to be a short lived unless we can convince the rakyat that Umno has a strong leadership which is going to propel the country forward and solve the problems people are facing,” said Raja Sara.

Raja Sara said Umno has the ability to make a come back every time the Malay party faced challenges and the 15th general election was the worst example.

Due to that, she said her ability to make Puteri into a force and to give Umno the support to stay relevant in Malaysian politics.

"I feel I can contribute to that task and meet the challenges we are going to face. Puteri can be turned into a force to be reckoned with and support Umno in continuing to remain relevant to Malaysian politics.

"This will be my task and commitment if I am chosen to be at exco."
