SHAH ALAM - Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said he will not appeal the decision made by the Umno Supreme Council to suspend his membership for six years.

Hishammuddin shared a video on his TikTok explaining the matter, claiming many had asked his stance on making an appeal after the suspension.

"Many have asked will you make an appeal or not? My answer is no I will not make an appeal.

"The reason for it? It's because I don't even know the reason behind my suspension, am I right?" he questioned.

The former Umno vice president claimed he had not known why he was suspended from the party.

"I was suspended without due process. It did not follow procedures," he claimed.

Hishammuddin said he was not asked to give any formal letter or made to answer to the Umno Disciplinary Board.

"There was no letter released by the disciplinary board to even call me to explain myself, there was nothing," he claimed.

He explained the third reason was there no longer a need to appeal to the party that had made a decision to suspend him.

"Why should we appeal to those that have made the decision to go through with the suspension?

"Those individuals have suspended me, and I am expected to appeal to them?" he said in the video.

Hishammuddin added if he made an appeal, it will show that he was the party at fault in the matter.

"If I appealed, it would look as if I was the one at fault.

"Today I ask for the blessings and permission from those in Sembrong, I will not be tempted to make an appeal," he stated.

In previous reports, Hishammuddin had revealed the official letter regarding his six-year suspension from Umno.

He said no reasons were given in the suspension notice.

Recently, in what has come to be known as the big Umno purge, the party's supreme council sacked some of its illustrious and notable leaders, namely former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno Liaison chief Tan Sri Noh Omar due to disciplinary violations.

The party also suspended the membership of several other leaders including former Information Chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan, Tebrau Umno Division chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang and former Jempol MP Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Mohd Sharif.
